It is a sail training ship of the Navy of Argentina. The ship is more than 100 years old and it is part of the country’s history. It got its name due to the promoter of the navy, an educator and Argentine president: Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. |

It exhibits historic elements related to the British invasions of the Rio de la Plata in the 19th century.
